Pirate Themed Steiner Birthday Crown

This is my first attempt at a Steiner Birthday Crown.

I needle-felted from L-R
A Robin, skull and crossbones, L, ladybird and bee.
These are Spring things he asked for.

I used orange blanket stitch as this is his favourite colour right now.

He had a Steiner-style party and he invited 4 of his favourite friends.
I kept the numbers low incase it rained too, but it turned out to be great.

I used many ideas from an old post here:

I made our own party bags from pirate fabric
and made " Seaweed Sticks" by attaching ribbons to sticks for them to play with in the garden.

Making Giant Dens

We all went to The National Botanical Gardens of Wales today,
I can't rave about this place enough!
Different things there each time we go, and it's sooooo beautiful.
I won't bother putting pictures of it on here as my camera won't do it justice at the moment.

Anyway...today...a big pile of giant sticks.

Grandpa, what can we do we these?
I like swinging them around and throwing them... what else?

We can build a giant den!

But what about the pile of sticks that are left Grandma?

A giant hopscotch!

Tomorrow as Big Seed has acquired this new skill,
he can build mini dens for teddy bears and gnomes in our garden...
if it doesn't rain!
